We booked a hunt for polar light guarantee team on April 1, 2026, when the cloud was thick and the CP was very low, Timo worked hard to help us find polar light, walked along the Swedish border and stopped several points, and finally successfully saw it! Very happy this trip to Finland got a great harvest! Super worth it!

This was our first ever time seeing the Aurora. It was amazing snd surreal. Our guide was really really good, friendly, cooperative and made sure we got best views. He was kind enough to also stop again when we spotted the aurora again while driving back. Overall, great value for money. Door to door pick-up and drop, great communication. Also the pictures and videos were the highlight.

We then did a beautiful round while he shared interesting stories about skiing and local history. He’s knowledgeable, good-humoured, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. I am using this link to provide feedback about the same company, but this time regarding a tour from Oulu with Jeremias for the three of us. Whilst we do not doubt Jeremias's sincerity and good intensions, the tour did not unfold as we hoped. When I booked the tour, I emailed the company and the instructor, Marko, to let them know that it would be two adults and our 7‑year‑old son. However, when Jeremias arrived to pick us up from the hotel, he came in his personal Tesla, with his father sitting in the front passenger seat. As a result, the three of us had to squeeze into the back with our thick winter clothing and jackets. The car heating was not on because it was said to drain the battery. Considering the outside temperature was below –15°C, that we had a child with us, and that the tour cost £300, this did not feel like a considerate or professional decision. The moment we entered the car, a strong cigarette smell made our son feel sick — Jeremias’ father had been smoking just before we got in. I explained this to Jeremias, and we had to keep the window open for fresh air so that our son would not vomit. During the hot‑drink stop, both Jeremias and his father smoked again, and when we returned to the car, it smelled strongly of cigarettes once more. Although the skies were clear and we could see the aurora belt approaching, Jeremias struggled to find a viewing spot without artificial light. He began driving down small dirt‑road tracks to improve our chances. Unfortunately, at that point our son could no longer hold his nausea and vomited in the back seat. This understandably caused panic, as the car now smelled of both vomit and cigarette smoke. We spent about 20–30 minutes at a petrol station, where my husband had to clean the seat himself. Afterwards, we drove back to Oulu with religious music playing in the background, which added to the overall discomfort. Overall, we were very disappointed with the experience. For the £300 we paid, the tour felt unprofessional, poorly managed, and unsuitable — especially for a child.

We were contacted on the day of departure, and yet everything went very well! We were only a small group, which made the experience very pleasant. We were lucky to see several northern lights! Our guide, Timo, was very attentive to alerts and very enthusiastic when we found them, which made the experience even better! We loved our time spent in the cold, thank you!

From the very beginning, everything was easy and well organized. Marko even picked us up, which made the whole experience completely stress-free. He took the time to explain the basics of cross-country skiing clearly and patiently, making sure everyone felt comfortable before we started. As a beginner, I really appreciated how he showed us the proper techniques and helped us get confident on the skis. Marko’s deep knowledge of the local trails and Finnish wilderness was apparent as he guided us through some of the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen. We skied through peaceful, snow-covered forests and across beautiful winter scenery with crisp, fresh Arctic air all around us. What really set this experience apart was Marko himself. He was friendly, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. He shared local stories and insights about the region and life in Lapland, which made the tour feel personal and special. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kemi, whether you’re a first-time skier or more experienced. After only 1 hour drive to Sweden, we saw our first dawn. First shy then in an explosion of colors! Beautiful! Effective! Very well heated bus and friendly guides! Too bad there were so many people (we were two buses with 50+ 20 seats that followed each other) and the respect of others is unfortunately not in everyone An experience to live anyway at least once!
We were picked up by our Airbnb. Had a young pair of Lassi&Sini as guides. They were very friendly and helpful. We found very nice northern lights and were able to take great pictures. Thank you so much!
After an average first stop. A second stop much better with the view of the Northern Lights and a free hot drink. The timo driver was not very pleasant. We wipe our boots before we get in his car. And give candy to a person who smoked a cigarette outside for no smell after in his car. When you take tourists you can expect not to have a nickel car

Beautiful skiing experience with Marko, our instructor who with great sympathy and experience guided us for the first time in this activity!! Definitely if we return to Lapland we will go back to him for a second ride and I highly recommend to those who come here to try this experience with Marko!

A great experience, Marco responded very quickly and professionally, we asked only the afternoon of the day, and in the evening we could leave smoothly. Originally expected to drive 2 hours to clear sky area, Marko team is very professional, about half an hour let us see the brightness, thank you very much for their positive and professional service

A fantastic mini adventure to an uninhabited island, walking over the frozen mouth of a river was a first for me. Essi was very knowledgeable about the history of the island, back when it was an important logging industry area. My boys (13 and 16) loved exploring the ruins of the old logging factory and playing on the frozen sea. Thank you Essi 🙏😊
Unusual experience to do once in a lifetime! Guides at the top and superb encounters. A clear sky that allowed us to admire beautiful aurora borealis ❤️
Don't join this tour seriously, it just ruins your holiday. I don't usually comment, but this time i feel like i need to share my horrible experience with you all. 1\. There is no information regarding pick up time and location before the tour. You need to contact the tour guide by yourself and would be added to a whatsapp group. You only got the meeting time and location at around 5pm sth. The tour started at 8pm. This is not convenient for travel plan. 2\. The order is "with pick up". But the bus driver said my hotel location is closed to train station, asked me to walk to train station and only drove me near the hotel, refused to go to my hotel. There was a snow storm that time, very dangerous, esp for people who is not used to walk in snow and ice and in the dark. 3\. Not able to see / capture any aurora with your eyes and phone camera. They only took a photo of all of you, after a while, (possible photoshop?), showed you the photo they took and said yes we caught the aurora. They did not even help you and your companion took any small group photo. May I ask why would I want a photo with some strangers and a photoshop aurora? 4\. I booked " the chase", the expensive one, supposed to go to multiple spots for aurora. They just took us to 2 spots at last, with no visible aurora. 5\. After this disappointment, I talked to a local driver the next day. He said actually it is possible to see aurora in kemi city district if the weather and all sorts of condition are good. I joined another aurora tour in rovaniemi 2 days later, was an entirely different experience, the tour guide was so nice and professional. After a train delay, I got a late time slot for visiting santa, so i told him can he pick me up in santa clause village, instead of the prebooked hotel pick up location, he said yes, he picked us up with luggage and sent us back to hotel after the tour. He did his best to search aurora in real multiple spots for us even when we all already felt asleep. He took lots of photo for us, no need time(time for photoshop), he showed the photo to us directly. We were also able to capture aurora with our phone. The aurora was pale greyish green, not bright as photo, but all of us were very satisfied and touched. So avoid this tour to avoid disappointment and anger. Good luck for seeing aurora if you are going to finland, it is spectactular.
Marko is such an excellent teacher. After my first lesson, I left there sking🏂⛷️😀😄😁😃⛷️🏂It was so much fun. Marko, gave very clear and precise instructions. Couldn't ask for any better. And the photo shoot at the end was hilarious 😁😃😄😄
The tour was excellent and very well organized from start to finish. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They explained everything clearly and shared interesting facts and stories that brought the destination to life. The pace of the tour was perfect, with enough time to explore, take photos, and ask questions. The itinerary covered all the highlights and some hidden gems as well. Amazing experience! Despite a cloudy night and low solar activity, the guides took us to spots with clear skies, waited for the Aurora to appear, and captured some amazing pictures for us. Communication was efficient and honest throughout the entire trip. It's important to understand that the Northern Lights and weather are natural phenomena; their intensity and occurrence are out of the guides' control. Don’t expect a "postcard" experience unless conditions are perfect, but these guys do their absolute best to find them even when the odds are against them.

Chasing, trying to get the perfect views of the Aurora. It was an amazing experience for us. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking for fun and entertainment finding the Northern lights. Be prepared to be entertained for between 4 to 6 amazing hours!!!
Marko and Timo were amazing! We had a week with 100% cloud cover, we still took the activity and after a few hours spent in Sweden we had an incredible show, well beyond our expectations! Marko took pictures and took us hunting brightly colored aurora, we saw them dancing right over our heads, Marko and Timo are great guides you won't be disappointed with! Thank you again.
Amazing !! Marko has a lot of experience and knowledge about hunting aurora and he does it in a very natural way. He does know a lot of Finland history and culture and likes to share it. The whole team was perfect !! We drove to Sweden to catch them and of course with Markos help we did it.
I travelled to Finnish Lapland with a group of four friends and we stayed in Kemi. A special mention goes to the organizer, Marko , a very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable guide. The entire experience was extremely well organized from start to finish. Marko has an excellent understanding of aurora forecasting and carefully selected the best night with clear skies, resulting in outstanding aurora visibility. He regularly updates guests about the chances of seeing the Northern Lights and only proceeds with the chase when there is a genuinely high probability. Marko personally picked us up from our accommodation, after which we joined a group of around 15 people, comfortably accommodated in a larger van. Once the chase began, we were fortunate enough to witness the birth of a strong aurora quite early in the evening. Seeing my first aurora slowly forming in the sky was truly emotional. We stopped at a nearby viewpoint, where we spent about 20–30 minutes outside admiring the Northern Lights and taking many photos. Afterwards, we continued to the Salmon Lodge, which offered an even more spectacular viewpoint. The auroras were directly above us. At the lodge, professional photography equipment was available, and we received beautiful group photos. There was also the chance to warm up inside the lodge, which was very cozy, especially considering the temperature was around -17°C. Hot beverages and sausages were provided, which was a very welcome and thoughtful touch. At the end of the experience, Marko conveniently drove us back to our accommodation. Overall, the experience was superb. My group and I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

We had the chance to hunt aurora twice, with Marko and Timo, very friendly and especially professional guides and hunters! They give the maximum and do not skimp on time and means to make you live THIS moment, the one when Aurora appears in the sky, when your eyes light up and no sound other than "wooow" comes out of your mouth. Both times have been a success and it is certain that we will engrave in memory these magnificent aurora dancing in the sky! Thank you to them for their efficiency, their explanations, their patience with our approximate English and thank you for allowing us to live this magical experience unforgettable!

The tour offers great views over Kemi and the Bothnian Bay. We learned a lot about the area and the industrial ruins on Laitakari. Marko is a very pleasant and entertaining guide and we would definitely book a tour with him again.
Weather conditions were not ideal for aurora so Marko kindly suggested to propose a new date or provide a full refund. We opted for a full refund and received without issue which was very considering of Marko.

Highly recommend experience. Ok, the weather was fantastic that helped and also our party was joined by a fairly quick german woman so we went for the lake. On the lake we followed a trail, went to the “saw-mill” island, enjoyed the fantastic snow covered trees en lavished in the sun. Marko told us a lot about the history of the place, the ice-hotel, Kemi as a city et cetera. In total we covered quite a distance so it was a good work-out. Tip… the better the group the further you go so… ask in advance.
Great guide and an unforgettable experience with Marko. We had the Northern Lights chase and visited several lookouts to get the best view. This was one of the highlights of our trip Later on, he shared places and alerts that we could go chasing the Aurora in our cars.
Wonderful experience! Marko is a lovely and warmhearted person and very skilled in finding/haunting the auroras. He made sure we got the most out of our adventure. He likes to share his knowledge and explains a lot! When the auroras were supposed to get in late he suggested to postpone the trip by a few hours to raise the chances of seeing them. Staying in the Salmon Lodge during the trip was a great experience and kept us warm. We would surely recommend the tour and look forward to come back!
The tour with Marko was brilliant! Even though the temperatures were quite cold he made it a very fun and worthwhile experience. He first taught us a few things about cross country skiing and then we went off onto the frozen Baltic Sea heading for the former saw mill island of Laitakari.
I recommend this tour. During the activity we were given hot tea, which I found particularly great in the cold weather (-25°). I have seen the Northern Lights many times and know that it is difficult to find a good spot. That is why I wanted to take part. Furthermore, it is always nice to talk to different people. There were very good vibes during the tour and it was fun. Unfortunately we only saw a little bit of the Northern Lights, but since it is a natural phenomenon there is nothing you can do about it.
Marko is a reliable, committed, warm-hearted tour guide and well informed. The trip was a great adventure, don't miss the Northern Lights.

Our guide was fantastic. The night we had picked to look for the lights turned out to have the wrong atmospheric conditions. Our small group had fun anyway looking at some local sights and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. But then our guide invited us to go out with him the next evening to try again free of charge, and this time we saw them. We really appreciated his expertise and dedication.

Don't join this tour seriously, it just ruins your holiday. I don't usually comment, but this time i feel like i need to share my horrible experience with you all. 1\. There is no information regarding pick up time and location before the tour. You need to contact the tour guide by yourself and would be added to a whatsapp group. You only got the meeting time and location at around 5pm sth. The tour started at 8pm. This is not convenient for travel plan. 2\. The order is "with pick up". But the bus driver said my hotel location is closed to train station, asked me to walk to train station and only drove me near the hotel, refused to go to my hotel. There was a snow storm that time, very dangerous, esp for people who is not used to walk in snow and ice and in the dark. 3\. Not able to see / capture any aurora with your eyes and phone camera. They only took a photo of all of you, after a while, (possible photoshop?), showed you the photo they took and said yes we caught the aurora. They did not even help you and your companion took any small group photo. May I ask why would I want a photo with some strangers and a photoshop aurora? 4\. I booked " the chase", the expensive one, supposed to go to multiple spots for aurora. They just took us to 2 spots at last, with no visible aurora. 5\. After this disappointment, I talked to a local driver the next day. He said actually it is possible to see aurora in kemi city district if the weather and all sorts of condition are good. I joined another aurora tour in rovaniemi 2 days later, was an entirely different experience, the tour guide was so nice and professional. After a train delay, I got a late time slot for visiting santa, so i told him can he pick me up in santa clause village, instead of the prebooked hotel pick up location, he said yes, he picked us up with luggage and sent us back to hotel after the tour. He did his best to search aurora in real multiple spots for us even when we all already felt asleep. He took lots of photo for us, no need time(time for photoshop), he showed the photo to us directly. We were also able to capture aurora with our phone. The aurora was pale greyish green, not bright as photo, but all of us were very satisfied and touched. So avoid this tour to avoid disappointment and anger. Good luck for seeing aurora if you are going to finland, it is spectactular.
Marko is such an excellent teacher. After my first lesson, I left there sking🏂⛷️😀😄😁😃⛷️🏂It was so much fun. Marko, gave very clear and precise instructions. Couldn't ask for any better. And the photo shoot at the end was hilarious 😁😃😄😄
The tour was excellent and very well organized from start to finish. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They explained everything clearly and shared interesting facts and stories that brought the destination to life. The pace of the tour was perfect, with enough time to explore, take photos, and ask questions. The itinerary covered all the highlights and some hidden gems as well. Overall, it was a fun, informative, and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area and looking for a great guided experience.

Amazing experience! Despite a cloudy night and low solar activity, the guides took us to spots with clear skies, waited for the Aurora to appear, and captured some amazing pictures for us. Communication was efficient and honest throughout the entire trip. It's important to understand that the Northern Lights and weather are natural phenomena; their intensity and occurrence are out of the guides' control. Don’t expect a "postcard" experience unless conditions are perfect, but these guys do their absolute best to find them even when the odds are against them.
Marko is an extremely empathy person and will make your visit unique, we enjoyed it and are happy to have known him
The Tour guides were amazing. They ensured we are at the right spot to see the northern lights. It was so much fun leaving one area to the next. Chasing, trying to get the perfect views of the Aurora. It was an amazing experience for us. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking for fun and entertainment finding the Northern lights. Be prepared to be entertained for between 4 to 6 amazing hours!!!
Marko and Timo were amazing! We had a week with 100% cloud cover, we still took the activity and after a few hours spent in Sweden we had an incredible show, well beyond our expectations! Marko took pictures and took us hunting brightly colored aurora, we saw them dancing right over our heads, Marko and Timo are great guides you won't be disappointed with! Thank you again.
Amazing !! Marko has a lot of experience and knowledge about hunting aurora and he does it in a very natural way. He does know a lot of Finland history and culture and likes to share it. The whole team was perfect !! We drove to Sweden to catch them and of course with Markos help we did it.
I travelled to Finnish Lapland with a group of four friends and we stayed in Kemi. A special mention goes to the organizer, Marko , a very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable guide. The entire experience was extremely well organized from start to finish. Marko has an excellent understanding of aurora forecasting and carefully selected the best night with clear skies, resulting in outstanding aurora visibility. He regularly updates guests about the chances of seeing the Northern Lights and only proceeds with the chase when there is a genuinely high probability. Marko personally picked us up from our accommodation, after which we joined a group of around 15 people, comfortably accommodated in a larger van. Once the chase began, we were fortunate enough to witness the birth of a strong aurora quite early in the evening. Seeing my first aurora slowly forming in the sky was truly emotional. We stopped at a nearby viewpoint, where we spent about 20–30 minutes outside admiring the Northern Lights and taking many photos. Afterwards, we continued to the Salmon Lodge, which offered an even more spectacular viewpoint. The auroras were directly above us. At the lodge, professional photography equipment was available, and we received beautiful group photos. There was also the chance to warm up inside the lodge, which was very cozy, especially considering the temperature was around -17°C. Hot beverages and sausages were provided, which was a very welcome and thoughtful touch. At the end of the experience, Marko conveniently drove us back to our accommodation. Overall, the experience was superb. My group and I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

We had the chance to hunt aurora twice, with Marko and Timo, very friendly and especially professional guides and hunters! They give the maximum and do not skimp on time and means to make you live THIS moment, the one when Aurora appears in the sky, when your eyes light up and no sound other than "wooow" comes out of your mouth. Both times have been a success and it is certain that we will engrave in memory these magnificent aurora dancing in the sky! Thank you to them for their efficiency, their explanations, their patience with our approximate English and thank you for allowing us to live this magical experience unforgettable!

Amazing experience! Marko is a natural teacher, and the track he picked was beautiful! There is plenty of shoe sizes to choose from, but bring your own gloves and hats.

The tour offers great views over Kemi and the Bothnian Bay. We learned a lot about the area and the industrial ruins on Laitakari. Marko is a very pleasant and entertaining guide and we would definitely book a tour with him again.
Weather conditions were not ideal for aurora so Marko kindly suggested to propose a new date or provide a full refund. We opted for a full refund and received without issue which was very considering of Marko.
Thanks to Marko and Timo we had a great time chasing northern lights! We learnt a lot about nature, stars and how aurora works, we'll be able to look and try to see lights from now. Highly recommanded!

Highly recommend experience. Ok, the weather was fantastic that helped and also our party was joined by a fairly quick german woman so we went for the lake. On the lake we followed a trail, went to the “saw-mill” island, enjoyed the fantastic snow covered trees en lavished in the sun. Marko told us a lot about the history of the place, the ice-hotel, Kemi as a city et cetera. In total we covered quite a distance so it was a good work-out. Tip… the better the group the further you go so… ask in advance.
Great guide and an unforgettable experience with Marko. We had the Northern Lights chase and visited several lookouts to get the best view. This was one of the highlights of our trip Later on, he shared places and alerts that we could go chasing the Aurora in our cars.
Wonderful experience! Marko is a lovely and warmhearted person and very skilled in finding/haunting the auroras. He made sure we got the most out of our adventure. He likes to share his knowledge and explains a lot! When the auroras were supposed to get in late he suggested to postpone the trip by a few hours to raise the chances of seeing them. Staying in the Salmon Lodge during the trip was a great experience and kept us warm. We would surely recommend the tour and look forward to come back!
The tour with Marko was brilliant! Even though the temperatures were quite cold he made it a very fun and worthwhile experience. He first taught us a few things about cross country skiing and then we went off onto the frozen Baltic Sea heading for the former saw mill island of Laitakari.
I recommend this tour. During the activity we were given hot tea, which I found particularly great in the cold weather (-25°). I have seen the Northern Lights many times and know that it is difficult to find a good spot. That is why I wanted to take part. Furthermore, it is always nice to talk to different people. There were very good vibes during the tour and it was fun. Unfortunately we only saw a little bit of the Northern Lights, but since it is a natural phenomenon there is nothing you can do about it.
Marko is a reliable, committed, warm-hearted tour guide and well informed. The trip was a great adventure, don't miss the Northern Lights.
Marko is the best tour guide ever! He took us to a beautiful spot by bus and told us stories while we were enjoying the Northern lights. He took pictures with, and of us and later shared everything. He is always willing to help and plan new activities around Kemi. It was truly an experience we will remember forever! Thank you Marko!
Our guide was fantastic. The night we had picked to look for the lights turned out to have the wrong atmospheric conditions. Our small group had fun anyway looking at some local sights and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. But then our guide invited us to go out with him the next evening to try again free of charge, and this time we saw them. We really appreciated his expertise and dedication.
It was a great experience very fun and the northern lights were really awesome. Marko and Mikko were great guides.
